Beth's Golden Rule
If you only pack one thing right, make it your shoes.
You will walk 25,000–30,000 steps per day at a theme park. That's not an exaggeration. Broken-in, comfortable shoes matter more than sunscreen, more than water bottles, more than any other single item. Bad shoes mean suffering. Good shoes mean you actually enjoy your vacation. Invest here.
Broken-In Shoes
25,000–30,000 steps/day. Break them in 2+ weeks before your trip. Not brand new.
Day Bag / Backpack
15–20L capacity. Padded straps. Distributes weight across both shoulders.
Portable Charger
20,000+ mAh minimum. Two charging cables. Your phone dies = your day is ruined.
Reusable Water Bottle
Free ice water at all quick-service. Refill constantly. Hydration > snacking.
Reef-Safe Sunscreen
SPF 50+. Reef-safe formula. Apply every 2 hours (every 90 minutes if swimming or sweating heavily). Sunburn = regret.
Hat with Brim
Wide brim protects face + neck. Breathable. Washable. Essential in hot parks.
Sunglasses
Polarized lenses reduce glare. Secure strap prevents loss. UV protection non-negotiable.
Blister Kit
Body Glide + moleskin. Prevent blisters before they form. Game over if you wait.
Compact Rain Poncho
Lightweight + packable. Better than umbrella at a theme park. Florida rains are sudden and heavy.
Phone Mount
Secure grip for park navigation. Prevents hand fatigue from holding phone 8+ hours.
Zip-Close Wallet
RFID-blocking. Keeps cards + cash secure in crowded areas. Waterproof option for water rides.
Travel Toiletries
Miniature deodorant, lip balm, hand wipes, face wash. Refresh mid-day confidence = better mood.
