Dining
From Butterbeer to fine dining at Atlantic — every restaurant worth knowing across 6 Universal destinations.
Dining Guide
Universal Orlando has 80+ dining locations. These are the ones that matter — curated by Beth based on food quality, experience, and whether they're worth booking.
Mythos Restaurant
$$$$+ · À la carte ~$55+Consistently ranked the best theme park restaurant on earth. Mythical creatures sculpted into massive walls. À la carte: entrées $18–$28; expect ~$35–$45/person with drinks. Menu: Mediterranean-inspired (lamb, seafood, risotto, vegetarian options). Reservations book up to 180 days in advance; worth every booking effort. Most guests overlook this gem; don't you.
Three Broomsticks (Hogsmeade)
$$$ · Quick ServiceButterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, and themed pub fare (Fishy Green Ale ice cream floats, Butterbeer, Cauldron Cake). Quick service; no reservation needed. Menu: British comfort food (fish & chips, steak & ale pie). Lines are longest 11 AM-2 PM; visit 10 AM or 4+ PM.
The Leaky Cauldron
$$$ · Quick ServiceBritish pub dining in Diagon Alley's side street. Fish & chips, Cornish pasties, shepherd's pie, sticky toffee pudding (the dessert is incredible). Order at counter; sit in Ollivander's-adjacent space. Themed down to the ceiling painted sky. Go off-peak (before 11 AM or after 3 PM) to avoid the longest queues.
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen
$$$ · Table ServiceSteampunk chocolate factory turned restaurant. Massive interactive décor with moving gears, airships, candy mechanics. Menu: burgers (Toothsome signature Bourbon Bacon), pizza, seafood, chocolate desserts. Dining experience > food quality, but it's fun. Best for first-time visitors and Instagram-worthy moments.
Bigfire
$$$ · Table ServiceWood-fired grill with open kitchen. Prime steaks, fresh seafood, rotisserie chicken. Modern upscale casual. À la carte: entrées ~$24–$40; expect ~$40–$60/person with drinks. Good for date nights and non-theme-park dining (CityWalk location). Reservations available online or via OpenTable.
The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar
$$$ · Table ServiceSushi-burger fusion hybrid. "Sushirito" (sushi burrito) + gourmet burgers + craft cocktails. Quirky concept that works (surprisingly). Good for families with diverse tastes. CityWalk location (outside park entry). Reservations online; less booked than park table service.
Lombard's Seafood Grille
$$$$+ · À la carte ~$65+Upscale seafood on the lagoon overlooking the main fountains. Cedar-plank salmon, lobster risotto, pan-seared scallops. Elegant without being stuffy. À la carte: entrées ~$28–$45; expect ~$65–$85/person with drinks. Reservations up to 180 days in advance via 407-224-FOOD. Underrated gem that many guests miss (fewer know it exists than Mythos).
Confisco Grille
$$$ · Table ServiceInternational cuisine (Asian, Mediterranean, American) in Port of Entry. Wide range = something for everyone. Reliable but not exceptional. Good fallback if you can't get Mythos reservation. Moderate waits; shorter than main-land restaurants.
Finnegan's Bar & Grill
$$$ · Table ServiceIrish pub atmosphere. Guinness beef stew, fish & chips, corned beef sandwich. Full bar with Irish whiskeys. Casual, lively. Good for group dinners and casual park dining. Walk-up or reservation available.
Pat O'Brien's
$$ · Quick ServiceNew Orleans dueling piano bar meets restaurant. Hurricane cocktails (sweet, potent), jambalaya, gumbo, po'boys. Open-air tropical vibe. Fun for adults; lively atmosphere. CityWalk (outside park). Casual walk-up or small reservation parties.
Antojitos Authentic Mexican Restaurant & Tequila Bar
$$ · Table ServiceAuthentic Mexican cuisine. Carne asada, chile relleno, fresh guacamole. Tequila bar. CityWalk location. Quality > casual Mexican chains. Good if you want Mexican without theme park premiums.
Red Oven Pizza Bakery
$$ · Quick ServiceNeapolitan wood-fired pizzas. Traditional Italian ingredients. Fresh salads, Italian pastries. Quick ordering, eat in outdoor CityWalk area. Good casual option. No reservation needed.
Must-Order Dishes by Park
🎪 Universal Studios Florida Must-Haves
- Escape from Gringotts: Butterbeer (from Leaky Cauldron cart) — only location available without Wizarding World walk
- Diagon Alley: Butterbeer ice cream from Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour
- Mummy/Production Central: Dockside Gyros (quick service, underrated) near the Mummy ride exit
- Woody Woodpecker: Cinnamon rolls from the bakery cart (iconic morning snack)
🦖 Islands of Adventure Must-Haves
- Mythos Restaurant: Grilled shrimp saganaki (crispy feta) and any lamb dish
- Hogsmeade: Butterbeer (original location; better crowd experience than Diagon Alley)
- Forbidden Journey: Casual dining with queue views (Cheshire Cafe for sweets)
- Skull Island: Kong Tiki Bar (tropical drinks; sip while waiting for ride queue)
Universal Orlando's dining strategy is simpler than Disney's: (1) Book Mythos at 60 days (best TS restaurant), (2) Plan Butterbeer moment (Three Broomsticks or Leaky Cauldron queue visit for atmosphere), (3) Use mobile ordering for quick service (no standing in lines), (4) CityWalk for date nights (Bigfire, Toothsome for first-timers). Don't overthink it. Most of your park eating will be quick service and carts. The theme dining (Three Broomsticks, Leaky Cauldron, Mythos) is where Universal shines. Everything else is comparable to Disney but less scripted.
